Star Wars: Andy Serkis Talks About Snoke’s Backstory

Snoke's Backstory

Star Wars: The Last Jedi did pretty amazing at the box office, but some fans were disappointed with Rian Johnson’s latest addition to the franchise. While the movie had its moments, one thing that did not go well with the fans was Snoke’s disappointing death.

Rian Johnson Explains Why He Chose That Answer For Rey’s Parents

Played by Andy Serkis, when Supreme Leader Snoke was first introduced in Force Awakens everyone thought that he would be the big bad of the new trilogy. But the character turned out to be disappointing with no back story offered by the director.

Snoke's Backstory

In a recent interview with  EW, Serkis talked about Snoke’s Backstory and how it could be useful for future projects. He said :

We wanted him to have a great deal of mystery, but we did … J.J. [Abrams] and I discussed it, and Rian [Johnson] and I did discuss backstories to him, where he came from. I’ve been asked to not shed anything, should we want to bring him back in any way whether [in a] prequel or whatever. I think there’s something cool about that. It still does remain a mystery for people. I know that some people find it incredibly frustrating, but I think it allows for further exploration and layering at a further point.

He also revealed that Snoke  is “a couple of hundred years old” at the time of The Last Jedi. He also said :

Yeah, I would love to think that there is room for him to come back. I think anything’s possible in a Star Wars movie. I’d be all up for it. I think there’s a lot more to be had from the character for sure, but I’m not in discussions with anybody at all about it.

Maybe we’ll see more of Supreme Leader Snoke in some flashback scenes with Kylo Ren. Or maybe he could come back somehow. As Andy Serkis said, anything’s possible in a Star Wars movie.
