Recently Peter Dinklage starred in a Super Bowl commercial rapping about Doritos Blaze. While most of the world treated it as a commercial, some fans started relating it to the show. During Dinklage’s part, the room bursts into flame, with Peter Dinklage breathing a puff of fire at the end. If you haven’t already seen the commercial, here it is.

The fan theorists connected this to a fan favorite theory : That Tyrion Lannister is a Targaryen. Now we’re not saying that. Here are some tweets from the fans who thought of connecting the commercial to the show.

Unfortunately, the theory has been debunked by none other than Peter Dinklage himself. During an interview with Huffington Post, he said :
I love every single theory the fans of our show have, because they’re so much fun,” he said. “They get to show the dedication and love they have for the show, but you have to understand that it is a Doritos commercial.”
It’s not ‘Game of Thrones. So [fans] are sort of stretching the limit with that theory when you’re branching out to Frito-Lay commercials. But I say that with all love and respect. Please, I love them. I love the fan theories that they have until the show is finally over.
Obviously it couldn’t be possible that the Game of Thrones producers would accidentally just reveal a huge secret like that in a commercial. But now that the theory has been debunked by Peter Dinklage, the theorists might give it a rest with this one.
Game of Thrones season 8 will premiere in 2019.
