Why Gamora Could Be The Villain In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

Gamora

Zoe Saldana’s Gamora in Avengers: Endgame was a surprise that no one expected. When she was killed in the Avengers: Infinity War, everyone thought that was it for galaxy’s most lethal assassin. But her appearance in Endgame proves that MCU isn’t done with her.

At the end of Endgame, it is pretty unclear as to what happened to Gamora. Did she slip away from Thanos’ army or met the same fate as her father. Regardless, Zoe Saldana expects to be back for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. And she doesn’t want to play the same Gamora that we have seen so far.

During a panel at ACE Comic Con in Seattle, Saldana talked about her character and how she’d like to play Gamora in the next movie of the successful franchise. She said:

“It all depends. The technical answer is it all depends on what Marvel and James Gunn desire to do with the Guardians and with Gamora’s fate. I would eventually, there’s a part of me that wants her to go back, find her way back to the Guardians but there’s also a part of me that wants to explore a bad Gamora. I’ve never seen that and she’s, you know, she’s considered the most lethal assassin, the most lethal woman in the galaxy so I would want to see what that wrath looks like also because it would just give me layers to sort of work on. But yeah, I want her to get back to the Guardians.”

While Russo Brothers suggested that Gamora might have disappeared with Thanos’ army, there’s no reason to believe that Gamora won’t return for the GOTG 3. Since she’s an important character to the GOTG franchise, killing her character during Tony’s snap feels incomplete.

Gamora

Listening to Zoe Saldana, making her the villain for the next GOTG movie might prove to be a great move for the franchise. This way, the movie could finally show why Gamora is known as the most lethal assassin in the universe.

Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 does not currently have a release date.
