An Australian Television host may have just given a major spoiler for Marvel’s upcoming movie, Thor : Ragnarok. Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo were promoting their movie on the Australian news panel show, The Project and it looks like the host might have revealed a major spoiler.
WARNING : Do not watch from 6:20 to avoid a major spoiler.
During the middle of the interview, the host starts to talk about Thor: Ragnarok’s villain, Hela.
AGAIN, Major Spoiler Ahead
In the question, the host refers to Hela as Thor’s sister. And it’s not a one time thing. He calls Hela as Thor’s sister multiple times during the interview.
Hemsworth immediately tries to control the situation and cuts him off. “You can’t say it’s his sister,” Hemsworth says. “You can’t give that away.”
While it is bad that something like this happens right before the release, this spoiler does reveal a bit about Hela’s character. In the trailers, Hela is shown as a goddess who’s out to claim for herself something she feels is rightfully hers. If she’s the daughter of Odin and is older than Thor, she may feel she’s the rightful heir to the throne of Asgard.
In the comics, Thor does have a sister named Angela. Maybe Hela’s character has been inspired by Angela. Guess we’ll just have to wait and watch for now.
Thor: Ragnarok releases on November 2, 2017
