WARNING: Contains spoilers for Resistance Reborn
Star Wars has reveled where Wedge Antilles is during the Sequel Trilogy. The rebel pilot, who flew in Red Squadron alongside Luke Skywalker in the original trilogy has been brought back in the latest Star Wars book.
The book Resistance Reborn by Rebecca Roanhorse features Wedge and also reveals what he has been up to. It is revealed early on that Wedge has retired and has been living on the planet Akiva with his wife, Norra Wexley. For those who don’t remember, Norra Wexley was the rebel pilot who rescued Wedge Antilles from the Empire on Akiva and disrupted the Imperial Future Council . Wedge lives a quiet life at Akiva but he’s brought back into the rebel life when his stepson, Snap visits him.
In the aftermath of The Last Jedi, the surviving group of rebels on the Millennium Falcon are in need of new leaders. Poe Dameron sends Snap to his Stepfather’s planet Akiva to recruit him and Norra Wexley. After hearing about the events of the sequel trilogy, and hearing about Luke’s death, both of them agree to help. After helping the resistance to free prisoners on Corellia, Wedge and Norra decide to fly around the galaxy and tell people about the war.
With fans expecting a cameo from the rebel pilot in the upcoming Rise of The Skywalker, Wedge Antilles might finally get a proper ending he deserves.
