Ever since the Justice League first appeared in The Brave And The Bold #28, they have had seven founding members. While DCEU’s Justice League already revealed their six members (Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Ezra Miller as Flash and Jason Momoa as Aquaman),the seventh member has still not been confirmed officially.
Fans have had speculations about who the seventh member would be since Justice League’s official trailer was released which showed Alfred (Batman’s Butler) talking to what looked as, another possible member of the Justice League. As it turns out, we might know who it is after all.
The Wrap‘s Umberto Gonzalez stated in an interview that the Green Lanterns will have a major role than what was previously believed to be. While previous rumors said a Green Lantern would be included, Gonzalez said that now “there will be two Green Lanterns” in the movie. He said this information came from sources who read Whedon’s script and could still be cut before the film hits theaters, so nothing is confirmed as of now.
This might make Green Lantern’s fans very happy, considering the fact that the last time DC tried to show a Green Lantern on screen, (Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan), it turned out to be a disaster. Maybe this time DC could get it right. While it has not been confirmed whether Hal Jordan and John Steward will be the Green Lanterns in the movie, (If there are Green Lanterns at the first place), it seems highly unlikely for the Earth’s first two lanterns to be in the movie, since Stephenwolf already said in the most recent Justice League’s trailer that there are no Lanterns on Earth.
The bigger question here is, if there are Green Lanterns in the movie according to the rumors, who will portray them? Guess we’ll just have to wait and watch.
