Marvel’s biggest movie till date, Avengers: Infinity War is out now and is already smashing records. While major credits go to the Russos for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there’s one other person who changed the game for Marvel.
Joss Whedon’s The Avengers was the turning point for the MCU. It feels like a long time since Earth’s Mightiest Heroes assembled on screen for the first time. Over the years, a lot of superheroes have joined the team, and the franchise is still growing.
During Infinity War’s premiere event in Los Angeles, Joss Whedon talked to THR about the movie and how he was a bit jealous not being able to work on such a huge project. He said:
“I’m less tired and excited ‘cos I don’t know what happens and you know, a little jealous…Well you know, you got the Guardians in there, they got just you know, every living human being who wasn’t in a Harry Potter movie is in this film and so that’s, I don’t envy them. There’s a reason why I said ‘two and out,’ but I wish I got to play with all those characters a little bit.”
It looks like Whedon didn’t have any part in Infinity War despite the fact that Russos reached out to some of the Marvel directors. Maybe he’ll be a part of the next Avengers project now that he’s not working on Batgirl.
