The theories regarding his final words have been going on for quite some time now. Some said that he delivered one of the show’s most used phrase “Valar Morghulis” while some suggested that he simply said “I kept my promise” in reference to Jon Snow’s true parentage. Another theory is that Ned simply warged and is still alive.

Well, Sean Bean is here to debunk all these theories. In a recent interview with the Huffington Post, about his new show The Oath , Sean Bean debunked the fan theories by revealing that he was “just saying a prayer.” He explained it further:

“I couldn’t be too specific, because I don’t know if religion [like that] was around in those days, whatever they were. I just thought, ‘What would you do if this were really gonna happen?’ You probably would pray. You probably would murmur some words and you’d keep it quiet. You’d keep it to yourself.”

He further said that HBO has not contacted him about any possible return. Infact he thinks that it would be weird to come back. We guess that fans can drop the fan theories now.
