CW has released the official title for the two night Arrowverse crossover. Titled Crisis on Earth-X, the crossover will have all four shows tied in. The premise is that Barry and Iris’ long awaited wedding brings together all the superheroes, and the wedding is finally gatecrashed by their Flash, Green Arrow and Supergirl’s evil counterparts from Earth-X. There is another villain in the poster. It is unclear at this point who that is.
The crossover will also feature Raymond “The Ray”, who is getting his own cartoon set on CW. The custom comic book cover takes it idea from the classic comic book crossovers. Executive producers Marc Guggenheim & Andrew Kreisberg talkd about the cover.
We conceived this year’s crossover to be evocative of the annual Justice League/Justice Society crossovers we grew up with and looked forward to as kids. Phil was the perfect choice to bring the comic book cover iteration of this idea to life. You can count on one hand the number of artists who could compellingly represent so many characters in a single image. Phil is one of them. And his design invokes the cover of Justice League #207, which was the 20th Annual JLA/JSA crossover. Our ten year-old selves are in heaven.
Crisis on Earth-X will start with Arrow and Supergirl on Monday November 27, and continue on Flash and Legends of Tomorrow on Tuesday, November 28.
