Chris Pratt Talks About The James Gunn Firing Situation

It’s been a month since James Gunn was fired from directing Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 and people are still talking about it. The aftermath of the decision taken by Disney to fire the director for his offensive tweets has also affected the cast of the movie. Chris Pratt, who plays the role of Star-Lord in the movie talks about how the it is a difficult situation for the whole cast.

During a recent interview with The Associated Press, Chris Pratt talked about the incident and his take on it. He said:

“It’s not an easy time. We all love James and he’s a good friend of ours, but we also really love playing the Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s a complicated situation for everybody. And you know, we just want to move forward and do what’s right and be the best people we can be.”

James Gunn was fired within days after alt-right bloggers surfaced his old tweets about ape and pedophilia. The firing coincided with the San Diego Comic Con was shocking for the Star-Lord actor. He said:

“I love going to Comic-Con but I ended up not doing a lot of interviews around that time just because it was so shocking. All I know is we put a lot of time, thought and effort into the statement that we released about it. And I think we all kind of want that statement to be essentially what we have to say about it. And we were pretty clear and honest about how we feel.”
